“Yesterday”

Ray Charles always seemed rather indifferent towards the music of The Beatles. But he was occasionally moved (or persuaded?) to record one of their songs, including Paul McCartney’s evergreen “Yesterday”. It appeared on Ray’s 1967 album Listen and was released as a single that same year. If 1967 was The Beatles’ year then Ray Charles’ “Yesterday” must have been a big thrill for the four Liverpudlians, who all counted themselves among Ray’s biggest fans.
