“Never Ending Song Of Love”, a tune by Delaney and Bonnie, is performed by Ray Charles in a short and rather unusual form on his 1972 LP Through The Eyes Of Love. It’s orchestrated, but it’s rhythm and blues. The arrangement is wild, not often a feature of Ray’s string sections – credit Sid Feller with some uncharacteristic adventurousness here. “Never Ending Song Of Love” acts as a short bridge between the building tension of “You Leave Me Breathless” and the loose, elegiac final track on the album, “Rainy Night In Georgia”.
