“Ain’t Misbehavin'”

Song by Ray Charles

Appears on

1961: The Genius After Hours

Ray Charles recorded a version of Fats Waller’s “Ain’t Misbehavin'” in the 1950s. It’s a song that everybody recorded, and Ray’s cool late-night version, instrumental jazz led by sultry sax, is one of the best, if a little shaky at times. “Ain’t Misbehavin'” was written for the 1929 Broadway musical Connie’s Hot Chocolates.

Rah Charles’ version of “Ain’t Misbehavin'” wasn’t released exactly at the time of its recording, but was added to the LP of outtakes and unreleased stuff that Atlantic put out in 1961, The Genius After Hours.
